One-Click Wonders

Does this sound like you? You love how easy it is to take digital photos,  yet you rarely do anything else with them, like print, email or share online. If so, you may be a One-Click Wonder.

The One-Click Wonder group is defined by their disinterest in using and enjoying the pictures they take. They take pictures only to let them live for eternity on their memory cards. These users tend to be late adopters of technology. More often than not, they own older, lower-resolution cameras and few-to-none digital imaging accessories. Many One-Click Wonders report being excited about their camera after purchasing it, but losing much of that interest after the newness subsided.

If this sounds like you, don't worry. By following a few simple suggestions, you can rejuvenate your interest in digital photography and maybe even rise to the ranks of Picture Happy Socialite.

Consider these tips:
  • Share, Share, Share: Finding ways to serve up your best shots with friends and family can be the most exciting aspect of digital photography. Try emailing your pictures, uploading them to photo sharing Web sites or displaying them in your home on a digital photo frame.
  • Keep It Simple: If the technlogy intimidates you, consider upgrading to a camera and/or an all-in-one photo printer with built-in WiFi wireless networking. Built-in WiFi enables you to email, print and upload photos to the Web directly from your camera or printer. Taking the PC out of the equation can often make the process seem faster and much simpler.
  • Find A Kiosk: The ubiquitous self-serve photo booths you see everywhere from the supermarket to the pharmacy are your best friend when it comes to sharing your digital photos. Simply insert your camera's memory card and within minutes you're making prints, uploading to the Web, ordering custom photo books and chotchkes and burning a back-up CD of your pictures.
  • Become A Videographer: Many digital cameras offer digital video recording in addition to still image capture. If you've been-there-done-that with taking photos, shooting movie images is a new and exciting use for your camera. Playing back the video clips you record is as simple as connecting your camera to your family-room TV. You can also save and share your videos just like you would your still photos.
